Your Road to Carnegie Hall

The New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition 2025 Final takes place at Carnegie Hall in New York October 3, 2025 at Stern Auditorium Perelman Stage.

The competition offers a unique opportunity for pianists to compete in a single category by submitting a pre-recorded video of a free repertoire, which must include one piece by Franz Liszt. Throughout multiple rounds of competing, four exceptional pianists will be selected to advance to the final round, where they will perform with the Orchestra of St. Luke's at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, playing a piano concerto by Franz Liszt. The grand final will be live-streamed directly from Carnegie Hall, bringing this extraordinary musical event to a global audience.

The Grand Prize of the 2025 competition is $25.000.

Celebrating Liszt and his legacy in New York City is a privilege for us all. As a Hungarian and a true Liszt admirer, I am excited to bring his spirit to Carnegie Hall with the winner's concert this coming October.

It is my great honor to serve on the  distinguished jury for the upcoming 2021 New York Franz Liszt International Piano Competition. All musicians owe Liszt a debt of gratitude for his groundbreaking advancement of artists in society. He called musicians "bearers of beauty" and I look forward to hearing your beautiful performances soon!
